In-House Training and Workshops

I come to your office and run a workshop with your team. The content is built around what you are working on, so people leave with progress on a real problem as well as a method they can reuse.

Formats

Full day. 09:30 to 16:30. Enough time to teach a method properly and apply it end to end. This is the format I recommend for anything hands-on, particularly usability testing and journey mapping.

Half day. Either 09:30 to 12:30 or 13:30 to 16:30. Covers one method at a working level. Less practice time, so people leave knowing what to do rather than having already done it.

Evening. Around two hours, usually 18:00 to 20:00. Suits an introduction, a specific topic, or a team that cannot lose a working day. Best combined with a follow-up session.

How it works

  1. Enquiry. You tell me the team, the numbers, and what is not working. A short form or an email is fine.

  2. Scoping call. 30 minutes. I ask what your team already does, what has been tried, and what a good outcome looks like. This is free and there is no obligation.

  3. Proposal. A fixed price, a session outline, and a date. Usually within two working days.

  4. Preparation. I look at your product, your existing research, or whatever material is relevant. Any pre-work for participants goes out a week ahead.

  5. The session.

  6. Follow-up. Materials, references, and answers to anything left open.

Group size

Four to twelve people works well. Below four the exercises lose their discussion value. Above twelve I cannot give individual attention during the practical work, and the format starts to become a lecture.

If you need to train more than twelve, running the same session twice usually produces a better result than one large session.

Lead time

Two to three weeks is comfortable. I can sometimes move faster, but tailoring the content properly takes preparation and short notice means a more generic session.

Cost

Full day from £1995. Half day from £995. Evening from £495. Prices cover up to 12 participants and include preparation, materials and follow-up.

Sessions outside Belfast, Dublin and London include travel at cost, and accommodation where an early start makes it necessary. This is agreed in the proposal, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
